The Presbyterian Counseling Center began in the recognition that people are hurting and the church needs to help. Believing that God gives particular talents and training in order to meet particular needs, in 1986, Rev. Richard Hills and the local Presbyterian churches founded PCC.  Through the talents of a Presbyterian minister, Dr. Dan Taylor and a counseling professor, Dr. Fred Robbins, they created a place of ministry to people in pain and transition.

Winner of a recent News Journal People's Choice Award, (please leave icon at top right of header opposite our logo but remove the year underneath-- its included in the logo) PCC proudly continues to thrive and serve the community.  We accept a variety of private health insurance coverages, employee assistance plans (EAPs) and private payment and offer a sliding scale fee schedule as a joint mission of our supporting congregations and our devoted and caring therapists.

People seek counseling for many reasons, INCLUDING:

  • Desire for personal growth

  • Emotional or spiritual stress

  • Vocational or retirement difficulties

  • Marriage or family struggles

  • Parenting problems

  • Aging concerns

  • Dealing with losses, death or grief

  • Facing alienated or broken relationships
